Active Western Disturbance Brings Heavy Rain to Rajasthan, Sri Ganganagar Records 85 mm

Thunderstorms accompanied with moderate showers were witnessed in western region of Rajasthan on Friday. Some regions recorded heavy rainfall, lightning and gusty winds, as per the Meteorological Department. As per the weather officials, the highest rainfall was recorded in Sri Ganganagar with 85 mm. Some areas of Sri Ganganagar recorded maximum temperature of 41.5 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature was recorded 30.2 degrees Celsius in Phalodi and Jalore districts.

Because of the western disturbances and rainfall some places have recorded lowest temperature upto 21.5 degrees Celsius in Jhunjhunu and Sikar.The Met department has issued fresh warning that the western disturbances have become active once again and this will lead to rainfall and thunderstorm in many places of Rajasthan.

Scattered Showers Forecast for Jodhpur, Udaipur and Kota Divisions

It is expected that due to the disturbances there will be thunderstorms along with gusty winds upto the speed of 60-70 kmph and there will be moderate to heavy rainfall in isolated pockets of Bikaner, Shekhawati region, Jaipur, Bharatpur and some parts of Ajmer divisions in the next 48 hours. Some places of Jodhpur, Udaipur and Kota are expected to receive scattered rainfall. Between June 21to June 24, rainfall and thunderstorms will continue in some places of Jaipur, Bikaner, Bharatpur divisions. However, in the southern part of Rajasthan rainfall will be reduced in the coming days.
