The CSR Journal Magazine

Aarohi Deshpande has made headlines by securing an All India Rank of 77 in the JEE Advanced 2026 examination, positioning herself as the highest-ranked female candidate. Originally hailing from Pune, she spent her formative years there before relocating to Kota with her family, a move she credits with transforming her educational journey. “I grew up in Pune and studied there until Class 8,” Aarohi stated, reflecting on her beginnings. Her family’s decision to shift to Kota was motivated by her burgeoning interest in mathematics and science, aimed at facilitating her serious preparation for the JEE.

Support from Family and Educators

The influence of Aarohi’s family has been significant in her path to success. She expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering support of her parents, grandmother, brother, and teachers. “My parents significantly aided me throughout this journey,” she mentioned. They made personal adjustments to their work situations, allowing them to work from home so Aarohi could concentrate fully on her studies. Her four years spent in Kota are described as unforgettable, with Aarohi noting the essential guidance from her teachers and the camaraderie with her peers that fostered an encouraging environment.

Aarohi attributes a part of her success to her structured approach to studying. “The teachers guided me at every step, and my friends were remarkably supportive. I will always be grateful for that experience,” she stated.

Maintaining Calm Amidst Pressure

Aarohi Deshpande stands out for her distinctive approach to examination stress. Contrary to the common perception that high achievers are perpetually anxious about their rankings, she advocates for a calm mindset that facilitates better performance. Following her experience, she emphasised that lessening the pressure can enhance results. “I approached the exam with a very relaxed mind and achieved better scores. The less you perceive an exam as life-altering, the more effective your performance may be,” she revealed in an earlier interview after the JEE Main 2026.

This mindset not only helped her navigate the complexities of the JEE but also contributed to her mental stability during the preparation for one of India’s most challenging entrance exams.

Aarohi also dismisses the narrative that success is contingent on sacrificing sleep or enduring exhausting study routines. “I sleep as much as I need. I do not believe spending long hours studying equates to productivity,” she asserted. Instead, she focused on maintaining organised study habits, including methodical note-taking and employing colour-coding techniques, particularly for chemistry, to facilitate easier and more efficient revision.

A Message to Future Aspirants

Even after achieving the remarkable feat of being the top female candidate, Aarohi’s message to aspiring students remains optimistic and encouraging. “Best wishes to everyone sitting for JEE Advanced in the future. You can do it,” she stated. Her journey from a young student intrigued by mathematics and science in Pune to becoming the highest-ranked female in JEE Advanced 2026 serves as a valuable reminder that composure can be just as crucial to success as rigorous study habits.

Aarohi Deshpande’s story exemplifies the combination of dedication, support, and mental well-being as integral elements in the pursuit of academic excellence. As she continues to inspire future generations, her experiences highlight the importance of balance in preparation.
