A 33-year-old manager employed by American Express was discovered dead in his Gurugram residence on the morning of April 20, 2026. Authorities suspect the case may involve suicide following a minor disagreement with his wife. The incident occurred in Pyramid Society, Sector 76. The deceased, identified as Rishabh Dixit, reportedly hanged himself from a ceiling fan.

Rishabh’s wife, Sonam Gupta, was the one who alerted the police to the situation. She notified the authorities after failing to reach him the previous night. Initial investigations revealed that the couple had been married for only four months, having celebrated a love marriage.

Sonam is employed in Mumbai, while Rishabh worked in Gurugram. On the evening prior to the incident, the couple was in communication over the phone, during which Rishabh expressed a desire for Sonam to come and stay with him. This conversation reportedly led to a minor disagreement between them.

Response from the Authorities

Following the alert from Sonam, the police arrived at the couple’s flat, which was locked from the inside. After repeated attempts to gain a response yielded no results, she sought assistance from the security personnel of the society. Upon gaining entry, they discovered Rishabh’s lifeless body hanging.

The local law enforcement has since taken the body into custody for further examination. Investigators have begun an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Rishabh’s death, focusing on their recent exchanges and the emotional distress that may have arisen from the aforementioned argument.

Preliminary findings indicated that Rishabh, a native of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, may have been under considerable emotional strain due to the conflict with his wife about her presence. The investigation aims to ascertain if this psychological distress played any role in the tragic incident.
