The rally was spearheaded by Navajyothi Misra, Assistant Superintendent of Police for Markapuram District, marking a vibrant celebration of national pride.

The rally commenced from the Zilla Parishad Boys’ High School and proceeded through prominent Mada Streets. Participants showcased a massive 330-foot-long Tricolour, a symbol of unity and pride. Navajyothi Misra officially flagged off the event, setting the tone for an engaging and inspirational day.

Addressing those gathered, Misra urged the community to contribute collectively towards the nation’s development, envisioning a ‘Viksit Bharat’. He emphasised the importance of youth in carrying forward the legacies of India’s freedom fighters and encouraged them to take an active role in national progress.

Wide Participation Encouraged in Markapuram and Beyond

The Tiranga rally in Markapuram was part of a larger series of events associated with the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, rolled out across Andhra Pradesh. In the NTR district, the administration also conducted a significant Har Ghar Tiranga rally on the same day, witnessing substantial involvement from local students and young residents.

This rally began at the District Collector’s office and made its way to Indira Gandhi Stadium, with participants proudly carrying the national flag. G Lakshmisha, the District Collector and District Magistrate, articulated that the rally aimed to inspire citizens to engage in the upcoming Independence Day festivities while reflecting on the nation’s progress since gaining independence.

According to Lakshmisha, such rallies are intended to galvanise community involvement, reinforcing the significance of unity in commemorating India’s freedom struggle. He highlighted the necessity for public awareness about the centenary milestones and encouraged citizens to reflect on their roles in shaping a developed India by 2047.

Har Ghar Tiranga Initiative Promotes Patriotism
