The CSR Journal Magazine

The World Hindu Congress (WHC) 2026 is set to occur in Mumbai from December 18 to December 20. This significant gathering aims to unite Hindu leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, educators, media representatives and activists from around the globe. The event’s primary focus will be to discuss topics pertinent to Hindu society, its development, and avenues for global cooperation.

The congress will be hosted at the Jio World Convention Centre. The official theme of the event is “Samanam Vratam Saha Cittam — Shared Commitment: Collective Resolve.” This thematic choice reflects a collective focus on commitment and partnership, vital in addressing contemporary issues faced by the Hindu community.

This year’s congress holds additional significance as it coincides with the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), an organisation that has played a pivotal role in promoting Hindu social values since its inception.

Leadership and Organisers

Ajay Piramal, the Chairman of the Piramal Group, has been appointed as the Chairperson for WHC 2026. He will be joined by Vishad Mafatlal and Mahesh Bhagchandka, who will serve as Co-Chairpersons. The leadership team aims to guide the discussions and activities during this global event, fostering an environment conducive to collaboration.

The congress will encompass seven parallel conferences that will address various domains such as economics, education, media, politics, women’s leadership, youth engagement, and organisational development. Notable conferences include the World Hindu Economic Forum, Hindu Education Conference, Hindu Media Conference, and others, which will highlight the multifaceted challenges and opportunities within Hindu society.

Swami Vigyananand, a prominent figure associated with the event, emphasised the importance of unity among Hindus worldwide. He noted that the congress serves as a timely platform for discussion, especially as Hindus gain increased visibility and influence on the global stage.

Participation and Historical Context

Organisers anticipate that WHC 2026 will attract over 4,500 delegates from more than 60 countries. This extensive participation underscores the global relevance of the congress and its role as a platform for connection and collaboration. Previous editions of the World Hindu Congress took place in New Delhi in 2014, Chicago in 2018, and Bangkok in 2023, collectively gathering over 6,500 participants from various nations.

The congress is held every four years and is designed to facilitate networking, idea exchange, and collaboration within the global Hindu community. The guiding philosophy of the event is “Yato Dharmastato Jaya,” meaning “Where there is Dharma, there is victory.” This principle encapsulates the spirit of the congress and its mission to promote Hindu values worldwide.

As WHC 2026 approaches, anticipation is building within the Hindu community for a successful gathering that aims not only to discuss relevant issues but also to inspire collaborative action for the future. The event’s leadership, along with the global Hindu network, hopes to foster a values-driven and prosperous society rooted in mutual respect and engagement.
