UPTET 2026 Scheduled For July 2, CM Yogi Directs Separate Test For In-Service Teachers

The CSR Journal Magazine

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that the UPTET 2026 examination will take place from July 2 to 4. During a review meeting on July 1, he asserted the necessity for the examination to be conducted with complete fairness, transparency, and accountability. ‘The UPTET is a crucial examination that affects the aspirations of millions of youths. Its integrity must not be compromised,’ he stated.

The Chief Minister expressed that conducting this examination is not solely an administrative duty but also a commitment to the future of young individuals seeking employment in the education sector. He highlighted that creating a safe and organised environment for candidates is a top priority for the government.

In order to achieve this, Adityanath instructed officials to ensure that candidates will not experience difficulties regarding transportation, accommodation, security, or other essential facilities during the examination period.

Specific Arrangements For In-Service Teachers

Adityanath underscored the importance of supporting in-service teachers by directing officials to consider their needs while organising the examination. He stated that serving teachers should be provided ample opportunities to establish their eligibility during this test, given that passing the Teacher Eligibility Test is mandatory for their career advancement.

To enhance accessibility for in-service teachers, the Chief Minister mandated the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission to conduct a separate Teacher Eligibility Test specifically tailored for them. He asserted that this initiative would ensure that no teacher is adversely affected by limited access to examination resources.

This decision aims to empower teachers while acknowledging the unique challenges they face in balancing their current responsibilities with the requirements of the eligibility examination.

Logistical Preparations and Candidate Support

As part of the preparation for a smooth examination process, Chief Minister Adityanath noted that many candidates would travel from various districts within Uttar Pradesh as well as from other states. He instructed that appropriate support should be available at major transport hubs, including railway stations and bus stands, to facilitate attendees reaching their examination centres without obstacles.

Moreover, he called for all examination centres to be equipped with essential facilities such as safe drinking water, clean sanitation, shaded waiting areas, reliable electricity supply, fire safety measures, and emergency medical support. Given the climatic conditions, he requested that health and disaster management units be prepared to respond promptly to any emergencies.

Adityanath further directed district magistrates to perform comprehensive rehearsals of all examination arrangements a day before the test, ensuring everything runs smoothly during the actual examination.

Security Measures and Monitoring Strategies

The Chief Minister stressed the importance of maintaining the sanctity of the examination process. He insisted that only reputable officers and employees should be assigned to oversee examination duties. The secure handling of confidential examination materials is to be maintained with the utmost care, from storage to dispatch.

In an effort to combat misinformation, he urged officials to actively monitor and respond to any spread of rumours, fake news, or inappropriate content circulating on social media platforms. Swift action has been mandated to address these issues effectively.

According to reports, the UPTET 2026 will consist of five shifts conducted across 955 centres in 60 districts, with an estimated 19,94,661 candidates participating, including 17,67,180 from Uttar Pradesh and 2,27,481 from other states. Major districts such as Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Lucknow are expected to host the highest number of candidates.
