Twisha Sharma’s Death Probe Raises Concerns Over Foul Play and Evidence Tampering

The CSR Journal Magazine

The ongoing investigation into the death of model and actor Twisha Sharma has prompted numerous questions, especially following the post-mortem report, which determined that the 33-year-old allegedly died by suicide. Despite the conclusion, Twisha’s family has voiced their dissent, accusing her in-laws of foul play and claiming she faced harassment related to dowry. Twisha, originally from Noida, was reportedly subjected to psychological abuse after marrying lawyer Samarth Singh, who is currently untraceable.

Twisha’s in-laws have countered the accusations, asserting that she had a history of mental health issues, including psychiatric treatment and substance abuse. However, the post-mortem report did not indicate the presence of drugs in her system. This discrepancy has led Twisha’s family to suspect that influential connections might be interfering with the inquiry, potentially skewing the investigation’s findings.

More than a week has elapsed since Twisha was discovered suspended from a gymnastic rope at her in-laws’ residence in Bhopal on May 12. During this time, new details about CCTV footage, alleged procedural errors, evidence handling, and call logs have only added layers of complexity to the case.

Key Unresolved Questions Surround the Case

One of the critical issues is the final 60 minutes leading up to Twisha’s death. Footage from her in-laws’ home shows her ascending to the terrace at approximately 7.20 pm, with her body being retrieved nearly an hour later. This interval has raised questions regarding who was present at that time and why immediate assistance was not sought.

Furthermore, Twisha’s family claims there was a significant delay in getting her to the hospital, with her in-laws stating they attempted CPR on the staircase. The family has questioned why professional medical help was not summoned directly, leading to suspicions of a cover-up regarding the true sequence of events.

Messages sent by Twisha to her mother prior to her death also indicate distress and dissatisfaction with her in-laws, raising concerns about her mental well-being and the emotional pressure she experienced. This adds further complexity to the situation, as her family believes it may reflect ongoing mental torment.

Evidence Handling and Legitimacy of Findings Questioned

Another significant concern revolves around the integrity of the evidence collected at the scene. Twisha’s family has alleged that key pieces of evidence may have been compromised. Questions regarding whether a thorough forensic examination was conducted have been raised, particularly as the investigating officer reportedly failed to present the nylon rope used in the hanging to the medical board during the autopsy. This omission precluded a scientific analysis that could have offered critical insights.

Additionally, the post-mortem results have themselves become contentious, failing to provide clarity on the nature of the injuries and marks found on Twisha’s body. Her family’s request for a second autopsy has been denied by a Bhopal court, further complicating their efforts to seek closure.

The central question remains whether Twisha’s death was genuinely a suicide or if other factors might have contributed to her circumstances. Given the discrepancies in the investigation, many anticipate that further revelations may surface as the case unfolds.

Post-Incident Communications Under Scrutiny

The actions of Twisha’s mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, following the incident have drawn further scrutiny. Reports indicate that she made several calls shortly after Twisha’s death, with Twisha’s family claiming to possess records of approximately 46 different phone numbers. This has raised further questions about the identities of these contacts and the nature of the conversations that occurred immediately post-incident.

As the investigation continues, the unanswered questions surrounding Twisha Sharma’s death remain pivotal in the search for truth and justice. Her family continues to demand accountability and clarity in a case that has captured widespread public attention.
