Neha Pachisia, a Deputy Superintendent of Police in Madhya Pradesh, is currently under scrutiny due to multiple allegations involving extortion and mishandling a murder case. Her notable public presence, stemming from her transition from an air hostage to a police officer, has added to the attention surrounding these developments.

The allegations were made by transport businessman Mahendra Jain, who claims that Pachisia demanded Rs 30,000 on the night of July 21 during a vehicle inspection. Jain assertively alleges that Rs 25,000 was collected in cash upfront, while the remaining Rs 5,000 was to be paid the following day through the driver.

According to Jain, the officer allegedly threatened that the truck would be impounded if he did not comply with the payment demand. The complainant, who operates a fleet of five vehicles for sand and dolomite transport, has provided supporting evidence for his claims and is seeking a thorough investigation into the matter.

Actions Taken by Authorities

In response to Jain’s complaint, Superintendent of Police Abhinay Vishwakarma initiated a preliminary investigation. As an immediate measure, constable and driver Keshav Singh has been suspended from duty. The investigation into the extortion claim has been assigned to Additional Superintendent of Police Kamal Maurya.

Alongside these actions, three police stations previously under Pachisia’s jurisdiction have been removed and placed under another Deputy Superintendent of Police. The inquiry officer is expected to submit a report following their investigation, which will aid in determining potential disciplinary action based on the findings.

These actions reflect the seriousness with which the authorities are treating the allegations and highlight a commitment to addressing any misconduct within the police force.

Concerns Over the Handling of a Murder Case

In addition to the extortion allegations, Pachisia is also facing scrutiny regarding her handling of a murder case. Reports indicate that the accused in this case has been able to secure default bail after police failed to file a charge sheet within the statutory 90-day time frame.

Further complicating the matter, the same accused has alleged that Pachisia exerted undue pressure on him to sell a parcel of land at a significantly reduced price in exchange for favours related to the criminal matter. This adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing inquiries against her.
