Tragic Incident in Karnataka: Teen Allegedly Stabs Family Members

The CSR Journal Magazine

A quiet day for a family in Karnataka turned into a tragic event when an 18-year-old reportedly attacked his parents and sister, leading to two fatalities and another person in critical condition. The incident occurred in the Koppal district, where the accused, identified as Sai Naidu, allegedly used a knife against his father, Yankanna Naidu, aged 48, his mother, Soujanya, and his sister, Pragati, aged 20. Following the attack, Sai Naidu is also believed to have turned the weapon on himself.

Fatal Consequences of the Attack

Preliminary information from law enforcement indicates that Pragati died at the scene of the attack. Emergency responders transported the injured individuals to the Ballari Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) Hospital, where Yankanna Naidu later succumbed to his injuries. Soujanya remains hospitalized in critical condition and is receiving ongoing medical treatment.

Accused Teen in Medical Care

In a simultaneous event, Sai Naidu sustained serious wounds from self-inflicted injuries and is currently under medical care at the same facility in Ballari. Koppal district police officers arrived at the hospital and commenced questioning him as part of the ongoing investigation into the deadly incident.

Investigating Online Gaming Influence

Authorities from Gangavathi police have begun a thorough examination of the crime scene while probing the motivations leading to the violent outburst. Initial investigations suggest that Sai Naidu may have been struggling with an addiction to online gaming. However, investigators are continuing to look into the details of the case to determine if this alleged addiction was indeed the driving factor behind the assault. Police are focused on reconstructing the timeline of events that led to this tragic situation, particularly as the mother remains in a critical state at the hospital.
