A leaked 27-second video is believed to offer a comprehensive view, suggesting that Samsung aims to create a direct competitor to Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses. Although the company has not yet officially confirmed the product, ongoing speculations have revealed key aspects regarding its design and technological capabilities.

The recent leak, reported by SamMobile, showcases what seems to be an official promotional clip that displays the Galaxy Glasses from various angles. The design appears to prioritise an everyday aesthetic, resembling typical sunglasses rather than a high-tech headset. Should the final product reflect the details presented in the video, Samsung might pose a significant challenge to Meta, which has seen success with its Ray-Ban smart glasses that blend AI functionalities with familiar eyewear designs.

Detailed Functionality and User Interface

The leaked footage suggests that the Galaxy Glasses come equipped with square lenses and thick temples likely housing essential electronics. Notable features highlighted in the video include a touch-sensitive area on the right side, a power button, an outward-facing LED notification light, and a camera integrated into the opposite side of the frame. These elements closely align with previously leaked design renders that showcased a simplistic style with minimal branding.

Additional animations in the leak depict control gestures on the right arm, allowing users to manipulate volume, manage media playback, and navigate through the interface with simple swipes. This method of interaction appears to be reminiscent of the control system found in Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, hinting at a similar user experience.

The footage also indicates specific camera operations. A shutter button located on the top of the right temple is reportedly designed for one-click photo takings, while a sustained press initiates video recording. During these activities, an external LED reportedly illuminates to indicate video recording, while an inward-facing LED serves as a notification for the wearer. Another aspect showcased is the capability for captured images and videos to be instantly accessible on a connected Galaxy smartphone via Samsung’s Now Bar interface.

Despite these insights, it is essential to note that Samsung has yet to officially announce the Galaxy Glasses.
