The biopic centred on former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has entered its filming phase in Kolkata following the completion of its schedule in Mumbai. The production team has moved to Kolkata for a 15-day shoot, focusing on various locations integral to Ganguly’s life and cricketing career.

Rajkummar Rao, who has been cast in the role of Ganguly, arrived in the city earlier this week. On Wednesday, he was spotted at the Maidan area after engaging in a morning workout, where filming for the biopic was already underway.

This biopic, titled “Dada: The Sourav Ganguly Story,” will highlight Ganguly’s journey from his early years in Kolkata to his rise as a prominent figure in Indian cricket, capturing the spirit of his dedicated fanbase.

The shoot commenced early on Tuesday at Ganguly’s family home in Behala. Following this, the crew moved to the historic East Bengal Club on Wednesday, where Ganguly began his cricketing career, starting at Aryan Club.

A significant set was constructed at this location under stringent security measures. Rao was seen wearing a red tracksuit to embody “Dada”. Scenes are also being captured at the Dukhiram Cricket Coaching Centre, in close proximity to Aryan Club. Notably, Ganguly was present during portions of the filming at both his residence in Behala and Eden Gardens, providing an authentic touch to the biopic.
