Piyush Goyal Chairs India-Chile Business Roundtable to Enhance Strategic Economic Ties

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal presided over a significant India-Chile Business Roundtable aimed at strengthening economic partnerships. The event took place in New Delhi on May 13, bringing together key figures, including Chilean Foreign Affairs Minister Francisco Perez Mackenna and Vice-Minister of International Economic Relations Paula Estevez. This assembly provided a platform to investigate opportunities for collaboration between the two nations, particularly in critical sectors.

Minister Goyal took to X (formerly Twitter) to communicate the key points discussed during the roundtable. He highlighted the potential of the partnership in areas such as critical minerals, food processing, healthcare, clean energy, technology transfer, and other emerging fields. His remarks emphasized the promising prospects for bilateral cooperation under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which aims to deepen economic ties and create growth opportunities for both nations.

Delegation Aims to Cement Ties

The Chilean delegation, led by Minister Francisco Perez Mackenna, is on a focused visit to India from May 9 to 15 to foster economic cooperation. This visit marks a concerted effort to enhance commercial relations and has been characterized by a series of productive discussions.
