Passenger Recovers Lost Gold Ring from Toilet Drainage on Bandra Terminus–Bhuj Express

A passenger travelling on the Bandra Terminus-Bhuj Special train from Mumbai to Bhuj recently experienced a distressing incident when he accidentally dropped a gold ring into the train toilet. The valuable ornament, worth several lakhs, slipped directly into the drainage system, leading the passenger to believe it was irretrievably lost. Despite the initial despair, a dedicated team of railway staff initiated a recovery operation in Ahmedabad.

Recovery Efforts by Railway Staff

Upon the train’s arrival at Ahmedabad station, the Western Railway staff mobilised a recovery team to locate the lost ring. Leading the effort was Senior Section Engineer (C&W) Sanjay Yadav, who coordinated with CTS staff member Virendra Kumar Singh and several other personnel. The railway staff faced considerable challenges, including navigating through foul-smelling pipelines and the waste tank of the train’s toilet system. Their determination to retrieve the item was commendable, as they worked for several hours in these difficult conditions.

After extensive efforts, the team was successful in recovering the ring from the drain, bringing immense relief to the passenger who had feared the worst. This operation showcased the railway staff’s commitment to their work, reflecting their dedication to serving commuters even in adverse situations.

The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Ved Prakash, publicly commended the staff for their integrity and perseverance in undertaking the challenging task.
