A 22-year-old man was severely injured by a woman in the Wazirabad area of north Delhi after she discovered his marital status. The victim, identified as Visarjeet from Rampur district in Uttar Pradesh, had been in a romantic relationship with Amina Khatoon, the accused, for approximately two years. The incident reportedly took place on February 24, following which the police were alerted on February 25 when Visarjeet was admitted to Hindu Rao Hospital for treatment.

Details of the Assault

According to police statements, Visarjeet claimed that he arrived in Delhi on the evening of February 24 and stayed with Amina. During the night, she allegedly mixed an intoxicating substance into a glass of milk that she offered him. As he consumed the milk, he fell into a semi-conscious state. Around 2:30 AM, while he was in this vulnerable condition, Amina equipped with a sharp-edged weapon, inflicted serious injuries to his genitals. This violent act followed Amina’s revelation that she had learned he was already married and had been dishonest with her throughout their relationship.

Medical Intervention and Legal Action

The injured man was able to reach Hindu Rao Hospital independently before being transferred to Safdarjung Hospital, where he underwent surgery for his injuries. Medical professionals provided the necessary care, and the police were notified of his condition upon his admission. Subsequently, law enforcement officials recorded his statement and obtained the medico-legal evidence required to initiate legal proceedings.

Police Investigation Underway

Based on Visarjeet’s account and the medical documentation, the police have filed a case against Amina Khatoon under relevant sections of the law that address voluntarily causing grievous hurt with dangerous weapons, as well as inflicting harm using poisoning methods with intent to commit an offense. The authorities confirmed that they are actively pursuing efforts to locate and apprehend Amina, who originally hails from Katihar in Bihar but resides in Wazirabad.

Current Status of the Case

As of now, the investigation continues, focusing on gathering further evidence and locating the accused. The police have indicated that they are committed to ensuring that appropriate action is taken in accordance with the law. Meanwhile, the victim is reportedly recovering from his injuries following the surgical intervention he received at the hospital.
