Man Dies By Suicide In Poison-Filled Room, Leaving Warning For Daughter

The CSR Journal Magazine

A 42-year-old man has reportedly taken his own life by consuming poison at his residence in a well-to-do area of Gandhinagar. This tragic event occurred following a significant job loss and financial turmoil exacerbated by recent stock market declines. A note addressed to his daughter was found, advising her to avoid the home and not to drink the water, citing the presence of poison within the premises.

Details Surrounding The Incident

The deceased, identified as Pankaj Bhansali, originally from Mumbai, had been living in the Kudasan region of Gandhinagar. The warning note was left affixed to the main door, stating: “Daughter, don’t come inside. Don’t drink the water from the house, there is poison inside.” Authorities suggest the note was intended to safeguard his family from inadvertent exposure to the toxic substance, believed to be Celphos.

Celphos, known as one of the most potent poisons globally, rapidly releases phosphine gas upon entering the stomach. This gas can disperse through a room, increasing the risk of exposure. Reports indicate that Bhansali was alone in the house at the time of the incident, following his wife and daughter’s visit to her parents on May 23.

Prior to the suicide, Bhansali faced extensive mental strain and financial difficulties, stemming from the loss of his job approximately five months earlier. His employment was tied to a company within Gandhinagar Infocity that focused on stock market investments, a sector in which he reportedly suffered considerable losses.

Discovery Of The Body

The situation came to light when Bhansali’s wife noted a lack of communication after speaking to him on May 22. As his phone appeared to be either switched off or continuously ringing, concern grew among his family. His wife returned, accompanied by their daughter and Bhansali’s brother, to check on him.

Upon entering the residence, they discovered Bhansali’s body inside. Authorities later reported that the body had reportedly been in the home for almost five days, exhibiting signs of decomposition due to the effects of the poison. The condition of the body, including swelling and darkening of the skin, further supported reports regarding the lethal nature of the substance ingested.

Police investigations revealed that Bhansali’s deteriorating mental health and financial distress contributed significantly to his actions. The anguish stemming from accumulated debts, in conjunction with his unemployment situation, was said to have led him into profound depression.

Investigation Following The Incident

Authorities from Infocity Police were notified of the situation and promptly responded to the scene. Upon their arrival, Celphos poison was found in the home, and an official case has now been registered. Legal proceedings regarding the matter are ongoing, including a post-mortem examination of the deceased.

Investigators are currently assessing all dimensions related to the incident, focusing on the pressures Bhansali faced leading up to this tragic decision. The police have made it clear that understanding the implications of financial instability and mental health will be crucial in future preventative measures.

The case remains under active investigation as authorities work to gather information that may offer insights into the events leading to this tragic outcome.
