Ladakh’s Lieutenant Governor, Vinai Kumar Saxena, has conferred the “UT State Awards” on thirty-six individuals for the period 2022-2025. This gesture aims to recognise remarkable contributions and exemplary services across various fields, highlighting those who have played a significant role in the progress of Ladakh.

As per an official statement, these awards are instituted by the Administration of the Union Territory. They are intended to honour individuals whose achievements, creativity, and commitment have profoundly influenced society. During the award ceremony, held on August 12, 2026, L-G Saxena emphasised the importance of recognising exemplary work that contributes to societal welfare and the development of Ladakh.
