‘Keep Away from Corrupt Practices’: Rajasthan CM’s Message to Municipal Workers

Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma while addressing the ninth state convention of the Rajasthan Municipal Employees Federation at the Rajasthan International Centre on Saturday stressed on honesty and transparency. He urged municipal workers to keep themselves away from the practices and give priority to the welfare of the citizens.

Sharma said that employees will play a major role in achieving the vision of a “Developed Rajasthan 2047″. “Work done with integrity and transparency is the hallmark of good governance. Providing timely services to citizens and strengthening work culture is our collective responsibility,” Sharma noted.

Zero-tolerance policy against corruption

Sharma reiterated that the Rajasthan government has a zero-tolerance policy and has in the past taken strict action against those involved in corruption, about 103 officials have been suspended and 6 have been dismissed and 11 officials’ lifelong pension has been stopped. He added in 108 cases prosecution has been sanctioned and 33 cases have been taken up under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Giving an example of Udaipur, Sharma said in Swachh Survekshan, Udaipur surpassed Jaipur with 13th rank, while Jaipur was at 16th rank. He noted, “Our goal is to make the cities of the state leaders in cleanliness at the national level,”.

Apart from the cleanliness drive, Sharma also talked about the ongoing infrastructure development, he said currently projects worth Rs 11,560 crore are underway in 200 towns and cities. There is a focus on the expansion of safe drinking water access, drainage, sewerage, drainage and improved solid waste management systems.

Hariyalo Rajasthan drive

The major highlight of the event was the initiative under the Swachh Bharat Mission, water campaigns titled ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’, under which almost 20 crore saplings have been planted till date, Sharma noted. On this occasion was present the Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Choudhary, he said Rajasthan has received leadership committed to farmers’ welfare and overall development. On the other hand, the Minister of State for Urban Development Jhabar Singh Kharra shared that Rajasthan government is diligently working towards holistic development, good governance and public welfare.
