Jaunpur district has set a new benchmark in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s ambitious Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan by achieving 100% of its loan distribution target.
In just seven months of FY 2025–26, the district disbursed loans to 2,256 young entrepreneurs slightly surpassing its goal of 2,250 becoming the top performer across Uttar Pradesh.
Intensive Outreach Campaign
District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra Singh credited the success to an intensive outreach campaign connecting youth with banks and providing them real-time support in securing loans.
“This achievement reflects the district’s commitment to turning the CM’s vision of youth self-reliance into reality,” he said. District Lead Manager Abhay Prakash Srivastava was also lauded for his contribution.
Statewide Impact: Over 71,000 Youths Empowered
Across Uttar Pradesh, the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan has emerged as a game-changer in promoting self-employment. Within the first seven months of FY 2025–26, the scheme received over 276,000 applications, far exceeding the annual target of 150,000.
Of these, 73,191 loans have been sanctioned, and 71,918 youths have already received funds to launch their businesses.
Azamgarh and Ambedkarnagar Follow Close Behind
Azamgarh secured second place, achieving an impressive 92.67% success rate, while Ambedkarnagar ranked third. Azamgarh, which was ranked 25th before April 2025, climbed rapidly thanks to regular block-level workshops and direct counselling between bankers and applicants.
Ambedkarnagar’s administration also conducted monthly review meetings with banks to fast-track approvals.
Fueling CM Yogi’s $1 Trillion Economy Vision
The Yogi government’s focus on entrepreneurship is central to its push for making Uttar Pradesh a one-trillion-dollar economy. Rather than merely creating jobs, the initiative aims to transform youth into job providers.
Districts like Jaunpur, Azamgarh, and Ambedkarnagar are demonstrating that targeted support, awareness drives, and financial inclusion can turn aspirations into enterprise.
