Social media influencer Shraddha Dubey, her sister Rashmi Dubey, and their driver, Tanveer Ali, also known as Danish, have been apprehended in Nagpur in connection with the murder of restaurant owner Shiva Sharma. This information was confirmed by Lucknow Police Commissioner Tarun Gauba. The trio had been on the run and were allegedly carrying a total reward of Rs 50,000 for their capture.

They are currently being transported to Lucknow under transit remand and are expected to be presented in court shortly. The arrests followed extensive searches across various locations in India and Nepal. Investigators managed to track the suspects after they reportedly fled to Nepal, then returned to Uttar Pradesh before eventually travelling to Nagpur in Maharashtra.

Shiva Sharma, aged 28, died on October 9 after allegedly falling from the fourth floor of Awadh Green Apartments, situated near Balu Adda in the Hazratganj area of Lucknow. His mother, Ranjana Sharma, has accused Shraddha Dubey and others of involvement in his death, leading to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) on October 10 under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to murder.

Investigation and Search Operations

During the investigation, police discovered that the accused had reportedly fled to Nepal. An SUV registered to Shraddha was located parked in Rupaidiha, Bahraich, close to the India-Nepal border, raising suspicions that they had crossed into Nepal. Investigators received further information regarding their movements in Nepal, specifically in Banke and Surkhet districts.

Subsequent leads indicated that they were in Bhaluwang, located in Dang district. In an effort to locate the suspects, police collaborated with their counterparts in Nepal to trace their whereabouts. It was established that the trio later re-entered Uttar Pradesh through the Maharajganj border region.

Their journey continued to Maharashtra, with Nagpur becoming a focal point in the search operation. The operation involved coordination between the Lucknow Police, the Uttar Pradesh Police Special Task Force (STF), and law enforcement agencies in Maharashtra. The joint efforts culminated in the successful arrest of the three individuals in Nagpur.

Public Reaction and Ongoing Investigation

The case has garnered significant public attention, particularly after videos surfaced that allegedly depicted confrontations between Shiva Sharma and Shraddha Dubey. In previous social media posts, Shraddha had denied any involvement in Sharma’s death, asserting that he had taken his own life due to financial difficulties.

The circumstances surrounding Shiva Sharma’s death and the allegations against Shraddha Dubey, Rashmi Dubey, and Tanveer Ali are still under investigation. The police had initially announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for each of the three suspects, totalling Rs 75,000. However, the information regarding their arrest indicated a combined reward of Rs 50,000, which has led to some confusion that may require official clarification.
