India Emerging as a Trusted Partner in an Uncertain World, Says PM Modi

The CSR Journal Magazine

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said India is emerging as a trusted partner for the world amid growing global uncertainty, asserting that trust now carries as much importance as trade in shaping relations between countries. Addressing the Indian diaspora in Paris, he said the India-France partnership had become a pillar of trust, stability and cooperation.

Speaking at Salle Pleyel, one of the French capital’s largest indoor venues, the Prime Minister highlighted India’s economic and social transformation, saying the country was investing across sectors that would define growth and opportunity in the coming decades. He also underlined the importance of inclusive global governance and partnerships based on trust.

Trust Increasingly Shapes Global Partnerships

Referring to the changing dynamics of international relations, Modi said countries are now seeking reliable and long-term partners in addition to economic ties.

“There was a time when relations between countries were determined solely by trade, but today, trust has become just as important alongside trade,” he said.

Stressing the importance of dependable partnerships, the Prime Minister added, “Every country wants a reliable supply chain. Every country wants a stable partnership. Every country is in search of such partners on whom trust can be placed for the long term, and at such a time, India is emerging as a trusted partner in the world.”

He noted that the world is currently experiencing uncertainty and disruption and said the relationship between India and France had emerged as a source of stability.

“In these challenging times, the partnership between France and India has become a strong pillar of trust, stability, and cooperation,” he said, adding that bilateral ties had been elevated to the level of a Special Global Strategic Partnership.

PM Modi Reflects on 12 Years in Office

Modi said his visit to France coincided with the completion of 12 years of his tenure as Prime Minister and described it as one of the greatest privileges of his life.

“Serving the nation continuously for 12 years as the elected Prime Minister has been a great fortune of my life. This is the strength of India’s democracy, which has brought a tea seller to this position,” he said.

Highlighting the achievements of the past decade, he said India’s development model places equal emphasis on human welfare and economic growth.

“Beyond economic growth, India’s journey is about empowering people and transforming lives,” the Prime Minister said.

According to Modi, nearly 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty during the past 12 years.

India Building the Ecosystem of the Future

The Prime Minister said the aspirations of the people are driving India’s transformation and shaping the country’s future.

“Today’s India and its youth are dreaming very big dreams. India’s farmers are moving forward with new possibilities. India’s women are demonstrating new leadership,” he said.

He added that future generations would recognise the present era as one defined by India’s ambitions and aspirations.

“Fifty or a hundred years from today, when this era is reviewed, it will emerge that this era was driven by India’s aspirations. Today’s India is building the entire ecosystem of the future. India is investing in every sector that will shape the direction of the coming decades,” Modi said.

Message at G7 Summit Focused on Inclusive Growth

Referring to his participation in the G7 Summit in Evian, the Prime Minister said India had conveyed the importance of trust-based and inclusive international cooperation.

“Bharat’s message to the G7 Summit was clear: global governance will only be effective when it is inclusive; global growth will be sustainable when it is shared; and technology will truly benefit humanity when it is trusted,” he said.

Modi said these principles are becoming increasingly important at a time when the global order is facing multiple challenges.

India-France Cooperation Expanding in Space Sector

Highlighting one of the major examples of bilateral cooperation, the Prime Minister announced that India and France would jointly launch the TRISHNA satellite next year.

“This satellite will contribute to ensuring water and food security in the world,” he said.

The mission is expected to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of space and support global efforts related to environmental monitoring and resource management.

Earlier, Modi was greeted by members of the Indian community with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and messages of “Bonjour Modi”.

In his address, the Prime Minister portrayed India as a nation built on trust and confidence, saying the country’s economic and social transformation is being driven by rising aspirations and expanding opportunities.
