The Indian Premier League issued a formal announcement regarding the fine on Thursday, referencing an infringement of Article 2.2, which pertains to the improper use of cricket equipment during a match. The specific incident took place on the fourth delivery of the 10th over of the second innings when Pandya forcefully dislodged the bails while returning to his run-up.

Hardik Pandya acknowledged the violation and accepted the penalty imposed by match referee Rajiv Seth. This match marked Pandya’s return to the Mumbai Indians lineup after missing three consecutive games due to injury. His previous appearance was during the away match against Chennai Super Kings on May 2, prior to his sidelining.
