Former AAP Candidate Nandani Bosmia Found Dead, Family Accuses Live-In Partner of Murder

The CSR Journal Magazine

The recent death of 23-year-old Nandani Bosmia, a former candidate for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has raised serious concerns about the circumstances leading to her demise. Bosmia was discovered hanging within her apartment near Gondal Chowkadi in Rajkot on the evening of June 24, 2026. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene, prompting an immediate investigation.

Family’s Allegations of Domestic Abuse

Following her passing, the family of Bosmia has accused her live-in partner, Aslam Hussain Sama, of multiple acts of harassment and ultimately, murder. They assert that Bosmia had been enduring extensive abuse during their relationship, which reportedly became increasingly volatile in the months leading up to her death. Allegations include threatening behaviour and physical assaults from Sama, a married man hailing from Junagadh.

According to Bosmia’s father, the couple’s relationship began when she rented property owned by Sama. Over time, they transitioned to a live-in arrangement in Rajkot, which the family claims began to deteriorate as Sama maintained contact with his wife. They allege that this situation led to frequent disputes between the couple, contributing to a toxic living environment.

Details from the family reveal that Bosmia had previously vacated the flat to stay with relatives after a serious disagreement but returned shortly before her tragic death. Notably, the family has alleged that Bosmia faced harassment from Sama’s relatives in Junagadh, intensifying the claims surrounding her untimely demise.

Discovery of the Body and Initial Investigations

Authorities have reported that Bosmia was found by a friend who had been contacted by concerned family members when they were unable to reach her via phone. Upon investigation, the acquaintance discovered the apartment’s door slightly ajar and found Bosmia hanging inside the fifth-floor flat. The body was subsequently sent for a post-mortem examination after preliminary procedures were conducted by the police.

In light of the allegations made by her family, Rajkot Taluka Police have initiated a case of accidental death while conducting a thorough investigation. A preliminary examination by a doctor indicated death by hanging, but law enforcement has since requested a forensic review to address the family’s concerns regarding potential foul play.

Investigators have affirmed that Bosmia and Sama were indeed in a live-in relationship and confirmed a history of disputes between them. Although the initial findings suggest suicide, the police have stated they will assess all aspects of the case, including the serious accusations made by Bosmia’s family. The ultimate cause of her death will be determined following the completion of forensic analysis and post-mortem reports.
