In summer, temperature in Rajasthan reaches 50 degree Celsius and at this time the need of water is the most, especially for those travelling. Understanding the need of travelers, a 77-year-old man has been for over two decades ensuring that no traveler crosses his area in thirst. This man named Thana Ram Kadwasra is from Hudo Ki Dhani in Barmer district. For the past 21 years, he has been providing cold water free of cost to travelers along the Barmer–Batadu route.

No social campaign, simple act of kindness

In the viral video captured and shared by Mohan Baliyara caught the attention of social media users. In the video it has been captioned that Baliyara has been providing cool drinking water to all commuters along the busy route. His act of kindness is not confined to bus passengers, but also to taxi drivers, and passersby. Each day Thana Ram takes empty bottles from commuters and fills them from water pots kept roadside and gives them back. Even though he is 77 and the temperature in Barmer mostly crosses 45 degrees Celsius, he ensures that whoever is in need has access to water. His act of kindness is not related to any social campaign nor is he related to any organization, he does this for his satisfaction. This simple act of kindness has become part of his life.
