An incident resulting in the death of a 60-year-old security guard occurred early on Saturday morning in Paschim Vihar West, Delhi. The victim, identified as Bijender, was employed as a ‘chowkidar’ at a tempo stand located near Shri Shidh Baba Mandir in Peeragarhi Village. According to police reports, a call was made to the police control room regarding the fatal accident at approximately 4 am.

Responding officers arrived at the scene and discovered Bijender lying unconscious. Despite efforts to provide him medical assistance, he was pronounced dead at the location. The circumstances leading up to his death are under investigation.

Initial inquiries indicated that a dispute had arisen between Bijender and the occupants of a car shortly before the tragic event. Police have stated that prior to the incident, an altercation occurred, during which one of the assailants reportedly struck the guard with a stick. Following this confrontation, the same individual allegedly ran over Bijender with the vehicle, not once but twice, before fleeing the area at high velocity.

The police have reportedly obtained CCTV footage that captures the moments before and during the incident, which they are currently analysing. Visuals from the footage depict a disturbing scenario, leading investigators to believe that the act was intentional. Skid marks found at the site of the incident further support this theory, suggesting a deliberate attempt to harm the victim.

A first information report (FIR) has been lodged under the applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Paschim Vihar West police station, officially launching the investigation process. Authorities are employing multiple investigative teams, including sub-division crack teams and units focusing on Outer district operations, to identify and apprehend the individuals involved.
