Delhi Woman Alleges Four-Year Ordeal of Kidnapping, Gang Rape and Forced Marriage by Four Men

The CSR Journal Magazine

A 23-year-old woman has reported a harrowing account of kidnapping, gang rape, and forced marriage linked to a coerced religious conversion in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar area. The incident reportedly began in 2021 when the main suspect, Faheem, allegedly posed as a Hindu named “Sahil” on social media, specifically Instagram, to gain her trust. The police have arrested four individuals linked to this case, while the main accused and another individual are already incarcerated for separate charges.

Details of the Allegations

The victim, who identifies as part of the Dalit Hindu community, allegedly fell into a trap set by Faheem, who concealed his true identity while forming a relationship with her. It is claimed that after promising to marry her, Faheem lured her to Batla House in Jamia Nagar, where he and his associates reportedly confined her and subjected her to sexual assaults over a four-year period from 2021 to 2025.

The woman reported her ordeal to the Jamia Nagar police station on May 13, 2026, leading to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) on May 14. The FIR includes serious allegations under various sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to kidnapping, rape, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, and conspiracy.

Reports indicate that the victim was not only held against her will but was also coerced into converting her religion. She alleged that intimidation and threats were used by the accused and their family throughout her confinement. Furthermore, a maulvi is reported to have assisted in performing the nikah under dubious circumstances.

Arrests Made in Connection with the Case

The police have apprehended several individuals allegedly involved in this case, including Faheem’s parents—Tasleem and Khurshid—his brother Zaid, and the maulvi identified as Mohammad Khalid. All four suspects have been remanded to custody. Faheem himself is currently incarcerated in Dasna jail, situated in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh, related to a different legal matter.

According to police sources, Faheem is also under suspicion for potential involvement in illicit weapon trading; however, no weapons have been discovered during the ongoing investigations. Authorities have secured Faheem’s transit remand and are expected to bring him back to Delhi for further questioning. Investigators are also planning to revisit the crime scene to reconstruct the sequence of events as per the victim’s account.

Further investigative procedures are active, and efforts to gather more evidence are ongoing. Police have expressed their commitment to thoroughly examining all aspects of this case to ensure justice is served.

National Commission for Women Takes Action

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognisance of the case involving the alleged gang rape and forced conversion of the Dalit woman in Jamia Nagar. The NCW Chairperson, Vijaya Rahatkar, has reached out to the Delhi Commissioner of Police, urging immediate and rigorous action concerning the allegations.

The Commission has requested a detailed Action Taken Report (ATR) within a week, demanding updates regarding the FIR registered in relation to this incident, as well as information about the legal provisions invoked, arrest details of the accused individuals, and the nature of the medical and forensic examinations that were conducted.

Additionally, the NCW has emphasised the urgency and sensitivity required in handling allegations involving gang rape, caste-based violence, and forced religious coercion. The Commission has also expressed strong condemnation of the incident, asserting that crimes against women, especially those involving sexual violence and coercion, are intolerable and warrant the strictest legal repercussions.
