Delhi Lieutenant Governor, VK Saxena, inaugurated the Piped Natural Gas (PNG) supply by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) to 111 villages within Delhi NCR. The inauguration, which occurred on Thursday and was attended by the Delhi chief minister, Rekha Gupta, will now take the total number of villages connected by PNG to 241.

Today’s launch is not a technical project, but a solid foundation for a cleaner and brighter future. This initiative not only connects rural areas with clean, safe and affordable energy, but also a significant step towards making Delhi an environmentally friendly and sustainable capital,” said LG Saxena.

LG Hits the Ex-AAP Govt

The lieutenant governor also took the opportunity of hitting at the previous government and said “The previous government did not have the will to ensure the facilities reach villages. Perhaps it was part of their politics…”

With 130 villages covered in the phase 1 and 111 villages covered in the phase 2 launched on Thursday, Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta pledged to connect the remaining 116 villages to the PNG pipeline by year end.
