Hyundai Motor India Foundation and GoSports Foundation join forces to launch Samarth Para-Sports Programme

Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) and GoSports Foundation have joined forces to launch ‘Samarth Para-Sports Programme’. Launched under the umbrella of Hyundai Motor India’s social initiative – ‘Samarth by Hyundai’, the ‘Samarth Para-Sports Programme’, is a comprehensive initiative aimed to identify and train India’s next generation of Paralympic stars.
In line with HMIF’s vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’ and GoSports Foundation’s established track record in athlete development, the Samarth Para-Sports Programme aims to create a holistic platform for para-athletes while creating opportunities and leaving a lasting mark on the future of Indian para-sports.
Commenting on the Samarth Para-Sports Programme, Mr. Puneet Anand, AVP & Vertical Head, Corporate Affairs, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “At Hyundai Motor India we remain steadfast in our commitment to India’s progress and believe in providing limitless opportunities to the citizens. All our social initiatives in India are aligned with our global CSV direction of “Continue”. Celebrating the spirit of inclusivity and excellence, through “Samarth Para-Sports Programme” we have partnered with GoSports Foundation to empower para-athletes. Our collective vision is to pave the way for a more inclusive society, where every individual, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to thrive. Through this collaboration, we are dedicated to identifying, nurturing, and supporting 20 para-athletes over the next three years, equipping them with the resources and mentorship needed to excel at a global level. These athletes will not only represent the indomitable spirit of India but will also inspire countless others with their courage and determination. Together, with Go Sports Foundation, we embark on a journey of empowerment, resilience, and triumph, embodying the true essence of Hyundai’s vision for a brighter, more inclusive future.”
Speaking on the exciting joint initiative, Mr. Arun Karthik, Programme Director, GoSports Foundation, said, “Building upon GoSports Foundation’ commitment to inclusivity and equality, Samarth Para Sports Programme establishes a transformative platform for young, aspiring para-athletes. This programme goes beyond simply nurturing talent; it empowers them on their journeys towards sporting excellence, with a focus on their overall development. By providing deserving talent with the opportunities they rightfully deserve, we aim to empower individuals and also amplify India’s stature on the global stage. This is a momentous step forward, and we are thrilled to be at the forefront of this transformative movement”.
The programme will identify talented athletes across six key sports, including Para-athletics, Para-swimming, Para-badminton, Wheelchair tennis, Para-archery, and Para-cycling. It welcomes both emerging athletes (aged 13-20) and elite athletes (aged 16 and above). Participants will benefit from structured support, including financial aid, expert sports science guidance, access to assistive devices for sports and livelihood, assistance in soft skill development, and mentorship from renowned coaches and experts.
With the launch of the Samarth Para-Sports Programme, a new chapter unfolds in India’s para-sports journey. HMIF and GoSports Foundation are dedicated to cultivating a culture of accessibility and reducing inequalities while enhancing India’s standing on the global athletic stage and inspiring future generations to pursue excellence.
