He emphasised that the narrative suggesting he had chosen not to list the matter was “completely false.” Drawing attention to the situation, he noted that there had been no formal filing by 10 am on the day of the comments, underscoring the need for accurate reporting.

Details of the Protest and Alleged Police Brutality

The original protest that sparked the controversy occurred on July 20, during which students participated in a march led by the Cockroach Janta Party. They were demanding the resignation of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in connection with the NEET exam leak issue. The protest escalated into clashes with security personnel, who employed batons and tear gas in an attempt to disperse the crowd.

A lawyer had approached the Supreme Court requesting an urgent hearing, asserting that video evidence existed showcasing alleged police brutality towards the students. The lawyer expressed concern for the students present and sought immediate attention to the situation, indicating the urgency of the matter.

However, Chief Justice Kant declined to examine the footage during the initial mentioning stage.
