A 52-year-old man has allegedly taken the life of his wife, a prominent Instagram influencer, before subsequently dying by suicide at their home in Nanganallur, Chennai. This incident was uncovered on April 27, when the couple’s younger son returned home to discover both his parents deceased.

Details of the Victims

The individuals involved have been identified as Subramanian and his 42-year-old wife, Nagalakshmi. According to police reports, the couple had been living separately due to ongoing differences, prompting Subramanian to relocate to Madurai to stay with a relative. This separation allowed Nagalakshmi ample opportunity to establish her own professional path.

Nagalakshmi successfully launched Sree Sai Silks, a saree business based in Nanganallur, utilising Instagram to promote and expand her brand. The venture thrived, enabling her to open a larger outlet in Chennai. In addition to her business endeavours, she was a dedicated mother, having sent her elder son, Harish Bharadwaj, aged 21, to Russia for medical studies, while her younger son, Sailash, aged 18, is in his first year of dentistry education in Chennai.

Reports indicate that Subramanian returned to Chennai recently and allegedly reconciled with Nagalakshmi after expressing remorse for his previous actions. However, this attempt at mending their relationship appears to have ended tragically.

On the day of the incident, Subramanian reportedly sent a troubling text message to Sailash. Concerned by the message, Sailash hurried home only to find his mother murdered. Nagalakshmi was discovered with fatal injuries, while Subramanian was found hanging in a separate room of the residence.
