BLF Leader Dr Allah Nazar Baloch Slams Pakistan’s Rule Over PoJK, Demands Self-Determination

The CSR Journal Magazine

Dr Allah Nazar Baloch, the leader of the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), has strongly condemned Pakistan’s policies regarding Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). During a recent address, he argued that the increasing resistance in the region signifies that oppressed nations cannot be silenced through force and oppression. This statement was reportedly made in an article published by The Balochistan Post.

Kashmiri Struggle for Rights and Self-Determination

According to Dr Baloch, the ongoing struggle of the Kashmiri population highlights their quest for fundamental rights, self-determination, and freedom from what he labels as Pakistan’s domination. He asserted that the Pakistani government has increasingly resorted to repression as a means to stifle dissent, yet these measures have failed to eliminate the public’s demands for political and economic rights.

The BLF chief also raised concerns over how Pakistan portrays the status of “Azad Kashmir.” He claimed that the region’s status is largely nominal, as it remains under illegal control from officials in Islamabad. Dr Baloch alleged that important decisions affecting the territory are often made by bureaucrats rather than by representatives elected by the Kashmiri people.

Further, he expressed that Pakistan’s federal structure serves to perpetuate the dominance of Punjab over smaller nationalities and regions. He indicated that the violence against protesters and political activists in Kashmir is indicative of a state’s struggle to maintain control over populations demanding greater autonomy and political rights.

Advocating for Solidarity Among Oppressed Nations

Dr Baloch posited that no nation can endure imposed control indefinitely, asserting that resistance against foreign domination is a legitimate right for oppressed peoples. He spoke in support of movements seeking sovereignty and self-rule, characterising these efforts as integral to a broader fight against political oppression.

He expressed solidarity not only with the Kashmiri people but also with the Pashtuns and Sindhis, highlighting that their political aspirations warrant international attention and backing. Dr Baloch called upon oppressed nations to unite and support each other’s struggles, reaffirming that the Baloch people consider themselves partners in this shared quest for freedom.

In his remarks, he emphasised the importance of collective action among oppressed groups, suggesting that such unity is essential in the face of challenges posed by more powerful authorities. Dr Baloch’s statements have reportedly resonated with various activist groups and have sparked discussions surrounding the political dynamics in the region.
