A 28-year-old woman reported that she was gang-raped and extorted of Rs 10,000 by seven men in front of her boyfriend in Assam. The incident transpired on February 19 when the couple was parked in their car near Silchar. A group of men approached them in an SUV, questioned them about their location, and subsequently assaulted them. Following the attack, the woman was raped by the assailants in a sequential manner.

Bystanders intervened, ensuring his safety. Following the assault, the journalist lodged a separate complaint, resulting in the arrest of one individual connected to the attack.
