“Allotted Centre in Nagpur”: NTA DG on NEET UG Re-Exam Student’s Allocation in Abu Dhabi Centre

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA), Abhishek Singh, has addressed concerns regarding a Nagpur student who was mistakenly assigned an examination centre in Abu Dhabi for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination. This clarification came on June 20, a day before the medical entrance examination scheduled for June 21, in response to the confusion experienced by the student and his family.

Singh confirmed to ANI that the error has been rectified and that the student has now been reassigned to an examination centre in Nagpur. The situation arose when the student discovered the unexpected allocation after downloading a new admit card, which stated the centre as Abu Dhabi Indian School in the UAE.

Background of the Examination Centre Issue

Initially, the student had been designated a centre at Saraswati Vidyalaya in Nagpur for the original NEET examination. This exam was postponed due to a paper leak controversy. When the student checked his updated admit card, he found the overseas centre indicated, leading to immediate concerns from his family.
