The Western Railway (WR) has taken a significant step in order to improve passenger convenience. The Railway has launched an online portal for lost and found items on the train. This new online system enables the passengers to track and identify their misplaced luggage on the train or railway premises. This includes handbags, purses, and other belongings found on trains. The new initiative is a step towards WR’s effort to streamline the recovery and return of lost items making it easy and accessible for the passengers.
‘Operation Amanat’
In accordance with the initiative, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) introduced a new scheme called ‘Operation Amanat’. This will ensure successful recovery of thousands of lost items on Railway premises.
So far, the operation has been effective and handy at the time of hassle. This online system includes uploading images and details of found items on the WR website. Following the upload, the valuable articles will be swiftly returned to the owner after recognition. Since the website came into function the RPF has been actively locating and returning items such as mobile phones, laptops, jewelry, and cash.
