Unredacted 2009 Email Challenges Donald Trump Claim on Jeffrey Epstein Ban from Mar-a-Lago

The CSR Journal Magazine

An unredacted email from 2009 linked to Jeffrey Epstein has emerged, prompting renewed scrutiny of Donald Trump’s long-held assertion that he expelled Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago club. New York Representative Dan Goldman stated on the House floor that a full examination of the email, which was previously released in a heavily redacted format by the Justice Department, indicates Epstein was “never asked to leave” the establishment. The email was sent by Epstein’s attorney, Jack Goldberger, who summarized a discussion involving Trump, his legal counsel Alan Garten, and another individual referred to as “Brad,” likely Brad Edwards, an attorney for Epstein’s victims. Goldberger mentioned that this conversation occurred “in lieu of a depo.”

Response from Trump’s Attorney

In response to queries about Epstein’s alleged expulsion from Mar-a-Lago, Garten reportedly stated, “No he was not a member. May have been his guest. Never asked to leave.” Goldberger’s email further noted that “Brad” spoke with a manager at Mar-a-Lago, who confirmed that “JE never asked to leave Mar-a-Lago.” The email included questions directed towards Trump concerning a claim made by Epstein’s brother, Mark, about Trump flying on Epstein’s aircraft, referred to as the “Lolita Express.” Trump’s alleged reply was, “I’ve been on a lot of planes. May have been on his plane. No young girls on the plane.”

Further Allegations

When questioned about his presence at Epstein’s residence, Trump purportedly stated, “I may have been there with my wife,” and when asked if there were any young girls present, he answered, “No may have been children of guests but that’s it.” This communication appears to conflict with Trump’s continuous stance that he expelled Epstein from Mar-a-Lago, a claim the White House often cited when details about Trump’s association with Epstein came to light. Trump has consistently maintained that he was not “friendly” with Epstein and that he never boarded the latter’s plane.

Historical Context of Their Relationship

The ongoing situation has drawn attention to various photographs and videos documenting interactions between Trump and Epstein in both New York and Florida. Their social interactions reportedly began in the 1980s and continued until the early 2000s. Various flight logs also list Trump as a passenger on Epstein’s aircraft. In addition, incidents from February 12, 2000, were noted, where Trump and his wife, Melania, allegedly joined Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell at the Mar-a-Lago club.

Recent Statements by Trump

Trump, now 79, told reporters last July that he severed ties with Epstein after the latter was said to have taken female staff members from his exclusive Florida club. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt defended Trump’s reputation, asserting, “President Trump did nothing wrong, and he kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago for being a creep.” However, Goldberger’s email raises questions regarding the accuracy of such statements.

Further Investigations

Goldman, during his speech, emphasized the significance of clearing up Trump’s claims regarding Epstein, accusing the former president of making “false statements over the past quarter century.” He also criticized Attorney General Pam Bondi for her department’s redactions related to the email. He highlighted that the Department of Justice had identified six million files concerning Epstein for potential release but had only disclosed approximately 3.5 million. Goldman questioned what additional information might be undisclosed, particularly concerning Trump’s connections to Epstein.
