MP Woman Tries to Stop Unemployed Husband From Playing PUBG, He Kills Her

The CSR Journal Magazine

A 24-year-old woman, Neha Patel, was allegedly strangled to death by her husband in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district after a confrontation over his excessive PUBG gaming and unemployment. The incident occurred late Saturday night when the accused, Ranjeet Patel, reportedly used a towel to kill her before fleeing their home. The couple had been married for barely six months.

Frequent Fights Over PUBG and Unemployment

Police officials stated that the marriage had been strained due to Ranjeet’s addiction to the mobile game PUBG. Investigators learned that Neha repeatedly urged her husband to find steady work, which often led to arguments. On the night of the murder, a similar dispute allegedly escalated to violence, resulting in Neha’s death.

Accused Sends Shocking Message After Murder

Shortly after the alleged killing, Ranjeet reportedly messaged Neha’s brother-in-law saying he had murdered her and that the family should “take her back.” Shocked by the message, the family rushed to the couple’s home and found Neha unresponsive.

Police were immediately informed, and she was declared dead on the spot. DSP Headquarters Udit Mishra confirmed visible strangulation marks on the body.

Suspect Absconding, Police Form Teams to Track Him

Authorities have registered a murder case and deployed multiple teams to locate the absconding accused. DSP Mishra said statements from family members and neighbours have been recorded. Investigators believe persistent disputes linked to Ranjeet’s gaming addiction played a major role in the crime.

Alongside the murder, Neha’s family accused Ranjeet and his relatives of regularly demanding dowry. According to the victim’s brother, Sher Bahadur Patel, the in-laws had previously pressured Neha for money and later demanded a car. He claimed the harassment continued despite their family settling earlier financial demands.

Family Demands Arrest of All In-Laws

Sher Bahadur expressed anger over the lack of arrests so far, alleging slow police action. “My sister was married on May 25 this year. Her husband stopped working and kept demanding dowry. When she urged him to find a job, he fought with her and killed her,” he said.

He also demanded that not only Ranjeet but his parents, brother, and sister-in-law be arrested for allegedly torturing Neha. The family insists they want justice for their daughter.

Body Sent for Post-Mortem

Police confirmed that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Investigations are ongoing, with surveillance teams working to trace the accused. Authorities expect to make arrests soon after gathering further evidence.
