Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav conducted an inspection of the construction and development activities at the Shri Ram Raja Lok situated in Orchha, within the Niwari District, on Monday. During his visit, he reviewed the progress of the projects and engaged with officials to ensure the timely completion of the works while maintaining high quality standards.

The Chief Minister remarked, “With the involvement of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, we are transforming this locality into an essential hub for religious tourism. The esteemed history of Raja Ram Lok, complemented by temples dedicated to Lord Ram and the residences established by historical rulers, showcases exceptional architectural achievements. These ancient structures serve to reconnect us with our illustrious past.”

He further noted the ingenuity of historical architecture, stating, “Despite having modern air-conditioning today, these structures were designed in ways that kept them comfortable during extreme weather conditions. They remained warm in winters and cool in summers, exemplifying remarkable craftsmanship of the era.”

During his tour, CM Yadav underscored the ongoing initiatives aimed at preserving Orchha’s architectural heritage, specifically the structures linked to the Bundela dynasty. He asserted that the government is committed to resurrecting the rich history of Bundelkhand by highlighting its forts, palaces, and various historical edifices.

He elaborated, “While enhancing the significance of our pilgrimage sites, we are equally focused on showcasing the glorious past of our rulers. Orchha, which once held the status of the Bundela rulers’ capital, possesses a rich heritage of historic structures and buildings, encompassing forts and various architectural forms.”

The Chief Minister added, “These architectural masterpieces reflect the wealth of heritage from that time. The government is dedicated to bringing this legacy to life by using the original materials for restoration, ensuring that these structures retain their appearance as they did a millennium ago. I take pride in the fact that, under the guidance of our competent officials, skilled craftsmen are reconstructing and restoring these historical assets using traditional techniques.”

CM Yadav highlighted that the Shri Ram Raja Lok is being developed in a manner akin to the Mahakal Lok project in Ujjain, which has significantly boosted religious tourism. This initiative has also fortified the local economy by attracting visitors both domestically and internationally.

He stated, “Today, in the sacred city of Orchha, I evaluated the ongoing development of ‘Shri Ram Raja Lok’. During this inspection, I gathered information from officials on the advancement of construction activities and urged that all tasks be completed within the designated timeframe while ensuring adherence to quality standards. The development of Shri Ram Raja Lok follows the successful model of Mahakal Lok, which has invigorated religious tourism and bolstered the economy. A substantial influx of devotees and tourists from across India and abroad is flocking there to engage with our spiritual and cultural legacy.”

He concluded with a commitment to the continuous enhancement of facilities at key pilgrimage sites, including Orchha, Chitrakoot, Datia, Nalkheda, and Mandsaur, as part of the state government’s broader development plan.
