Telangana Approves Ticket Price Increase for Ram Charan’s Peddi

The CSR Journal Magazine

Ram Charan’s latest sports action drama, Peddi, has received a significant boost just hours before its release, as the Telangana government has approved a temporary rise in ticket prices. This decision aligns the state’s ticket pricing with that of neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, enhancing expectations for the film’s box-office performance.

The government order permits theatres to implement higher ticket rates for Peddi for a limited duration. Under the revised pricing structure, single-screen cinemas can raise ticket prices by Rs 100, while multiplexes are authorised to increase rates by Rs 125. Additionally, for premiere shows scheduled on 3 June, an extra charge of Rs 600 will be allowed.

This pricing strategy will be in effect for ten days from the film’s release, which is set for 4 June. The approval follows requests from the filmmakers for special shows and ticket price adjustments from both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments. The Andhra Pradesh government had granted approval earlier, making Telangana’s decision a crucial addition to the overall strategy.

Advance Bookings Indicate Strong Interest

The advance booking figures for Peddi suggest robust interest among audiences. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has achieved an impressive Rs 5.39 crore in advance bookings across India for its opening day, excluding blocked seats. Furthermore, the worldwide advance sales have exceeded Rs 12 crore, thanks in part to a positive response from international markets, particularly in North America.

The filmmakers’ efforts to make special show arrangements and prompt ticket price adjustments aim to capture heightened audience interest, with hopes of translating strong advance bookings into substantial box-office returns. Peddi’s production team is optimistic about the film’s potential to perform well in its first week.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi features a notable cast including Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, Shivarajkumar, and Jagapathi Babu in significant roles. The ensemble’s performance, combined with an engaging storyline, is poised to draw in viewers across various demographics as it makes its way to theatres.

Scheduled Release and Premiere Shows

Peddi is anticipated to open nationwide on 4 June, with various cinemas offering paid premiere shows a day earlier on 3 June. The special screenings are expected to attract enthusiastic fans eager to see the film ahead of its official release date.

This strategy not only aims to increase box-office earnings but also to create a buzz around the film before it officially debuts. The combination of advance ticket sales and the approval of higher ticket prices reflect a carefully orchestrated plan to maximise the film’s financial success.

The excitement surrounding Peddi is palpable, as the film’s team prepares for what is anticipated to be a landmark release for Ram Charan. The efforts taken by both the filmmakers and the government are indicative of a collaborative initiative to ensure the film’s success in the competitive cinematic landscape.
