The Pune Rural Police successfully rescued a 17-year-old boy shortly after he was abducted on Tuesday. The incident unfolded when the teenager was leaving his father’s wine shop in the afternoon. As the shop’s watchman stepped out during the lunch break, two masked assailants reportedly forced the boy into a black car following a brief struggle, then fled the scene. The watchman sounded the alarm to alert the family, prompting immediate notification to law enforcement.

Police Mobilize Quickly

Initial indications suggested that the kidnappers were heading towards the Satara highway. In response, police set up multiple checkpoints throughout Satara, Saswad, and Jejuri. The suspects reportedly altered their route through Jejuri and Lonand in an effort to evade capture. To intensify their efforts, local teams from Jejuri and Neera police stations coordinated vehicle inspections across the region.

Pursuit and Capture of Suspects

During a blockade near Pisur village, approximately 40 to 45 kilometers from where the abduction occurred, officers spotted a speeding vehicle matching the description of the kidnappers’ car. When police signaled the driver to pull over, the individual accelerated instead, triggering a chase that lasted several kilometers. The suspects ultimately lost control of the vehicle on a narrow road, leading it to become stuck in a sugarcane field. They abandoned the car, leaving the teenager inside, who was then rescued by the police. Authorities apprehended two suspects, Akshay Lakshman Ingulkar, the main accused, and Akshay Bhalerao, both of whom reside in the Manjari area of Hadapsar. The suspects had also changed the vehicle’s number plate in an attempt to conceal their identities.

Planned Abduction Linked to Family Issue

According to police statements, the kidnapping was premeditated. It is believed that the suspects were aware of a honey-trap case involving the teen’s father, which included financial dealings. They reportedly thought that the father would be amenable to paying a substantial ransom, motivating them to track the teenager’s movements before executing the abduction that Tuesday afternoon. However, the swift and coordinated response from local law enforcement prevented the suspects from successfully carrying out their plan.
