Ex-Miss Switzerland Accuses Prez Donald Trump of Assault in 1993

The CSR Journal Magazine

Beatrice Keul, a former Miss Switzerland, has accused US President Donald Trump of raping her in a New York City hotel in 1993. This allegation was reported by People.com, referencing a recent congressional report released by Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee. The document investigates Trump’s purported connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his alleged sex trafficking operation.

The report outlines Keul’s account of the alleged incident and discusses claims that Trump, Epstein, and others exploited the Donald J Trump American Dream Pageant as a means to target vulnerable young women and girls. Participants in the competition ranged from ages sixteen to twenty-two, raising concerns about the environment in which these young women were placed.

According to The Week, the report suggests that the pageant created opportunities for men to approach and exploit women under the guise of offering assistance with education, travel, and career opportunities. Keul, who was twenty-four at the time and worked as a model and in financial services, was reportedly invited to the pageant by Jill Harth in November 1993.

Details of the Alleged Assault

Keul’s account, as cited in the congressional report, details her initial meeting with Trump during a press luncheon at the Plaza Hotel, which he owned at the time. Trump allegedly offered to assist her in securing a visa and gaining admission to New York University. Subsequently, Epstein also approached her with similar offers, including an invitation to a party at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

The report indicates that a representative of Trump later invited Keul to a hotel suite to meet the president. Believing this meeting could enhance her career and educational prospects, she reportedly accompanied the representative. Once inside, Trump allegedly assaulted her, leaving her with torn clothing and injuries that she described as “brutal”.

Following the incident, Trump allegedly reiterated his earlier promises of assistance while urging her to remain silent about the assault, stating, “The show must go on.” Keul reportedly completed the pageant while in a state of fear and confusion before returning to Switzerland. She later declined to participate in another Trump-sponsored pageant in Hawaii.

White House Response

In response to the allegations, White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis stated that the claims are “not true”. Bis characterised the report as a politically motivated effort by Democrats to distract from the accomplishments of the Trump administration. She added that Trump had previously removed Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago club due to concerns about his behaviour.

She maintained that the president had been “fully exonerated” regarding any connections to Epstein. No criminal charges have been filed against Trump in relation to Keul’s allegations. This incident occurs amid Trump’s ongoing legal challenges, including a case involving writer E. Jean Carroll, who accused him of raping her in a New York department store during the 1990s.

In May 2023, a civil jury found Trump liable for sexually abusing Carroll, a verdict he continues to contest. Future developments regarding these allegations will depend on further disclosures, responses from the individuals mentioned in the report, and any additional legal or congressional actions that may arise.
