Xiaomi has officially introduced the Redmi K100 in China, expanding its smartphone lineup that includes the recently launched Redmi K100 Pro and Pro Max models. The standard K100 distinguishes itself with a significant 10,000mAh battery, outshining even the higher-end variants in the series. This device is equipped with a high-refresh-rate display and operates on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which made its debut in 2024.

Sales for the Redmi K100 are expected to commence later this week. Although Xiaomi has yet to disclose any plans for a global launch, it is anticipated that the phone may be released in certain markets under the Poco F9 branding.

Specifications and Features of Redmi K100

The Redmi K100 boasts a 6.83-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,772 x 1,280 pixels. This display supports a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, enhancing the smoothness of scrolling and gaming experiences. The panel achieves a peak local brightness of 3,500 nits and incorporates full DC dimming along with eye-care features to improve user comfort during prolonged use.

Internally, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, complemented by a dedicated Redmi D2 gaming chip. Xiaomi claims that this gaming chip enhances the overall gaming experience, with 165 games optimised for its capabilities. The device also utilises LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage technology.

For photography enthusiasts, the Redmi K100 features a dual rear camera system that includes a 50-megapixel primary camera equipped with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Additionally, a 20-megapixel front camera is available for selfies and video calls.

Battery Life and Additional Features

The standout feature of the Redmi K100 is its impressive 10,000mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims can last up to 2.43 days on a single charge. However, actual battery performance may vary based on individual usage patterns. The device supports 100W wired fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging, enabling users to charge other devices using the phone itself.

Other notable features include stereo speakers tuned by Bose, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and an X-axis linear motor. The device is rated IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K for dust and water resistance. It operates on HyperOS 4 right out of the box and has a metal frame with a fibreglass back, measuring 8.65mm in thickness and weighing 234.5 grams.
