SP MP Dimple Yadav Criticizes Central Government Over Inflation and LPG Cylinder Shortages

The CSR Journal Magazine

Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament Dimple Yadav expressed significant concerns regarding the rising inflation and the alleged shortage of LPG cylinders during her visit to Orai in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh.

Addressing a gathering of party workers and local residents, she highlighted the struggles faced by the common populace attributing these difficulties to the government’s policies. Yadav stated that citizens have been subjected to continuous hardships, reminiscent of experiences during past crises such as demonetization and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Linking Current Struggles to Past Experiences

Yadav drew parallels between the current situation and past events, recalling the long lines outside banks during the demonetization period and the challenges encountered during the pandemic. She remarked that people are now facing similar challenges as they queue for LPG cylinders, claiming that the rising prices have placed an increased strain on poor and middle-class households. Yadav urged the government to acknowledge these issues and take immediate actions to ensure the availability of essential goods.

Government’s Response to LPG Supply Issues

In response to Yadav’s allegations, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated that there have been no widespread LPG supply shortages reported across the country. The ministry indicated a decline in LPG bookings, with approximately 77 lakh bookings noted recently, compared to 88.8 lakh bookings recorded on March 13.

Various states and Union Territories, including Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan, have implemented orders for the allocation of non-domestic LPG, adhering to established government guidelines.

Continued Availability of Fuel and LPG Cylinders

According to the ministry, commercial LPG cylinders are being prioritized for distribution and are accessible to consumers in 30 states and Union Territories. The government reassured that there have been no dry-out incidents reported at retail outlets by oil marketing companies, allowing for regular maintenance of petrol and diesel supplies. Citizens have been advised against panic buying, asserting that adequate stocks of petrol and diesel remain available throughout the nation.
