Among those who attended were well-known figures such as Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, and Anupam Kher. The gathering took place at the Celebration Sports Club located in Andheri West, where attendees expressed their condolences and shared in the collective memory of Kohli.

Kuku Kohli passed away on August 25 at the age of 77 due to a heart attack. He was recognised primarily for directing Ajay Devgn’s debut film, “Phool Aur Kaante.” His wife, veteran actress Aruna Irani, was present at the prayer meet and exhibited visible emotion as she arrived accompanied by family members.

Footage from the event depicted Aruna Irani surrounded by her loved ones, highlighting the support she received during this difficult time. Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif were observed arriving alongside Vicky’s father, noted action director Sham Kaushal. The couple had attended Kohli’s funeral earlier in the week, further demonstrating their respect and affection for the filmmaker.

Following his arrival, Anil Kapoor, dressed in black attire, was seen engaging in conversation with Aruna Irani, offering her solace. A video captured the moment where Anil held Aruna’s hand while extending his condolences. His presence added a significant touch of camaraderie and support to the gathering.

Other notable attendees included Rajpal Yadav, Gajendra Chauhan, Sunny Kaushal, Jackie Shroff, and Anupam Kher, all of whom paid their respects to Kohli. The attendance of such prominent figures illustrated the industry’s deep regard for Kohli’s contributions and the impact he had on numerous careers.

Kuku Kohli’s Health and Final Days

Kuku Kohli was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai after a sudden deterioration in his health. Reports indicated that he had complained of feeling unwell late on August 22 and suffered a mild heart attack the following day. Subsequently, doctors performed an angioplasty, which initially stabilised his condition.

Despite the initial positive signs, Kohli’s health declined rapidly. At approximately 5:15 pm on August 25, he experienced a cardiac arrest while being accompanied by Aruna Irani in the hospital. His passing left a notable void within the film industry, mourning the loss of a director who shaped the careers of many actors.

Born Avtar Kohli, he commenced his career by working as an assistant to legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor, contributing to classics such as “Bobby,” “Prem Rog,” and “Satyam Shivam Sundaram.” Additionally, he collaborated with Rahul Rawail in a second-unit directing capacity on films like “Betaab” and “Arjun,” cementing his legacy in Indian cinema.
