Anaya Bangar, daughter of former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar, recently received a significant boost in her cricketing career. Following a lifeline from Cricket Australia, she now has the chance to participate in community and Premier Cricket. This opportunity positions her on a path towards elite cricket by March 2027 and has instilled hopes of representing India in the Women’s World Cup.

The young cricketer described this development as a major milestone, though she is cognisant that obtaining clearance does not guarantee her a place at the top tier of women’s cricket. Determined to return to competitive cricket in Australia, she aims to secure a spot in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) in the near future.

She stated, “I hope BCCI looks into it and creates policies which are inclusive, fair, and dignified towards women’s sport, and I hope to win the World Cup for India one day. I want to win something for the country, and that’s my dream.” Anaya’s conviction highlights her determination to contribute positively to the landscape of women’s cricket in India.

Despite the challenges she faces, her passion for the game remains unwavering. Anaya is focused on her development as a cricketer, aiming to achieve her goals on the international stage.
