The body of an unidentified man, believed to be a citizen of Nepal, was found inside a sack in the Western Yamuna Canal, located in Karnal, Haryana. This incident was reported after local residents noticed a suspicious sack floating in the canal and immediately notified law enforcement authorities. Upon receiving the alert, police dispatched a team, including divers, to the scene to investigate further and recover the body.

Once at the location, the divers successfully retrieved the sack from the water and subsequently handed the body over to the police. An official statement indicated that the victim is estimated to be between thirty and thirty-four years old and is presumed to be a Nepali national based on his facial features. However, authorities have yet to verify his identity or nationality conclusively.

The recovered body has since been sent to the mortuary at Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College for a post-mortem examination. The investigation team has confirmed that the exact cause of death will be determined after the autopsy results are made available.

Suspicions of Foul Play

The conditions under which the body was found have raised serious concerns regarding foul play. Notably, the man’s body was stuffed in a sack that was tied from the bottom, leaving only his legs visible at the time of recovery. One of the divers involved in the recovery, identified as Subhash, mentioned that the words “Jai Shri Shyam” were inscribed on the man’s hand. The police have initiated efforts to ascertain the deceased’s identity and locate his family. They are currently following multiple leads and analysing evidence to piece together the victim’s background and uncover the events leading up to this tragic incident.
