Saudi Arabia Launches Registration for Domestic Hajj Pilgrims for 2026

The CSR Journal Magazine

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has commenced the registration process for citizens and residents intending to participate in Hajj 1447 AH (2026). The registration started on the 6th of Ramadan 1447 AH, utilizing the Nusuk Hajj platform accessible via both the official website and a dedicated mobile application designed to facilitate the experience for pilgrims. The ministry also disclosed that booking for Hajj service packages will begin on the 15th of Ramadan, allowing applicants to complete their registration before selecting from a range of available packages.

Priority and Registration Process

In this initial phase, applicants who have not previously performed Hajj will receive priority. Registration will remain open through the end of Shawwal, and should seats remain available afterwards, additional eligible applicants may be able to book their packages. To ensure a smooth registration process, applicants are required to fulfill several criteria. They must be at least 15 years old according to Gregorian years and meet the health standards stipulated by the ministry. Resident applicants need to possess a valid residency permit, with emphasis on those who have maintained their residency for over a year. This approach guarantees that the registered pilgrims are both qualified and medically fit for the physically demanding pilgrimage.

Steps to Register and Secure Hajj Packages

Registration is a self-service process; there is no provision for registering as a group or through a third party. The steps include creating an account on the Nusuk platform or mobile application, completing personal details along with eligibility checks, selecting preferred Hajj packages offered by licensed contractors, and processing payments via the secure Sadaad payment system to issue an official Hajj permit. All contracts and reservations must be made exclusively through licensed companies listed on the platform, ensuring that services meet quality standards and comply with Saudi regulations. Furthermore, the ministry has encouraged early registration and has provided a contact number, 1966, for applicants who may require assistance.

Future Outlook and Digital Transformation in Hajj Management

The opening of early registration for domestic pilgrims signifies Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to enhance the Hajj planning and booking experience. By prioritizing first-time pilgrims and leveraging digital platforms like Nusuk, the ministry aims to centralize applications, minimize errors, and improve communication between pilgrims and service providers. This initiative aligns with broader digital transformation objectives within the kingdom’s religious tourism sector. Additionally, the timing of this registration coincides with international preparations for Hajj 2026, including the issuance of visas for pilgrims from abroad, which began earlier in February as part of coordinated operational frameworks for the pilgrimage.
