On September 5, 2026, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh made substantial allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a press conference held in Lucknow. He asserted that these funds were not intended for the parties themselves but were instead channelled to the BJP through these organisations.

Further elaborating on these parties, Singh indicated that they lack a genuine presence in the political landscape, having collectively contested elections with only fifteen candidates. This raises questions regarding their funding sources and legitimacy, according to Singh, who referred to them as “dummy parties” allegedly established by the BJP to facilitate the conversion of black money into white funds.

Singh also directed pointed questions at the Election Commission, urging decisive action against these parties and questioning why no measures had been taken to investigate the purported corruption. His remarks reflected a broader concern about the integrity of the electoral process in India and the potential exploitation of political funding channels.

Sanjay Singh’s press conference also touched upon recent events such as the demolition of a mosque in Saharanpur, which he claimed reflected a pattern of creating communal tensions by the BJP, especially when facing potential electoral setbacks. He noted how the mosque, established in 1911, was destroyed, framing this act as a breach of the Places of Worship Act and other related laws. Singh suggested that such actions are part of a strategy to incite division among communities for electoral gain.

Additionally, Singh addressed recent changes in the Ram Mandir Trust, alleging that a member of the Dalit community had been removed while controversial figures were appointed in key roles. He argued that this shift represented an ongoing pattern of discrimination within the BJP’s organisational framework.

As part of the AAP’s political activities, Singh mentioned an upcoming executive meeting in Lucknow scheduled for September 9, 2023. This gathering will involve district presidents, co-in-charges, and senior leaders from across Uttar Pradesh, focusing on strategies for the 2027 elections and addressing the prevailing political landscape in the state.
