Rakesh Roshan Refutes Claims of Hrithik’s Rs 500 Crore Budget Demand for Krrish 4

The CSR Journal Magazine

Rakesh Roshan, a prominent filmmaker, has categorically denied recent reports suggesting that his son, Hrithik Roshan, has demanded a budget of Rs 500 crore for the upcoming film Krrish 4. He described the claims as “all nonsense,” emphasizing that speculation surrounding a financial disagreement with producer Aditya Chopra is also unfounded. Rakesh clarified that there are no ongoing issues regarding the film and that the project is progressing seamlessly.

In response to assertions that Hrithik Roshan sought a substantial budget for high-quality visual effects and sophisticated action sequences, Rakesh remarked, “It is not true that Hrithik has requested such a massive budget. Yash Raj Films aims to keep the film’s budget around Rs 350 crore.” He stated that crafting a successful film requires time and effort, referencing his own approach in past Krrish franchises.

Rakesh further commented on the delay in the project’s commencement, noting that Hrithik is currently engaged with obligations pertaining to the production house he established earlier this year. “Krrish (Hrithik) is occupied with other commitments, and we are all patiently waiting for his availability,” he added, indicating that there has been no discord with anyone involved in the project.

Insights into Krrish 4 and Its Challenges

Krrish 4, which has become one of the most eagerly awaited films in Hindi cinema, will mark Hrithik Roshan’s directorial debut within the popular superhero franchise. Previously, reports indicated that producer Aditya Chopra aimed to manage the film’s financial scope effectively, with the intent of ensuring its commercial viability. In contrast, Hrithik’s vision encompasses a broader scale that significantly surpasses the budget constraints proposed by Chopra.

The film is being developed in partnership with Yash Raj Films and follows Hrithik’s previous successful venture, War 2, under the same banner. The Krrish franchise originally began with the film Koi… Mil Gaya, in which Hrithik portrayed Rohit Mehra, a young man whose life takes a U-turn after he befriends an alien called Jadoo. The extraordinary abilities he acquires are inherited by his son, Krishna Mehra, who ultimately transforms into the titular superhero Krrish.

As the Krrish 4 project has been temporarily placed on hold, the start date for filming is now anticipated to extend beyond 2026, shifting the timeline further and leaving new production dates yet to be finalized. This ongoing uncertainty regarding Krrish 4 has garnered significant attention amongst fans and industry observers alike.
