The CSR Journal Magazine

A woman in Rajasthan was seriously injured after her husband allegedly pushed her from the roof of their house during a dispute regarding his drinking habits. The incident unfolded in the Alwar district, where the victim, identified as Manisha, suffered significant head injuries as a result of the fall.

The altercation reportedly began on Friday night when Rakesh, the husband, returned home intoxicated. Following a heated exchange, Manisha advocated for him to reduce his alcohol consumption, highlighting the adverse effects on their family and the frequent arguments that arose due to his habit.

According to Manisha, her insistence on Rakesh quitting alcohol reportedly incited anger in him, which led to physical violence. In a fit of rage, he allegedly pushed her off the roof of their single-storey dwelling, resulting in her medical emergency and subsequent injuries.

Medical Treatment and Public Response

After the fall, Manisha called for help, prompting nearby residents to rush to her aid. They promptly arranged for her to be transported to Rajgarh Hospital for immediate treatment. Given the severity of her injuries and excessive bleeding, she was later referred to Alwar District Hospital for advanced care.

Sources close to the situation indicated that Manisha had been enduring hardships linked to her husband’s alcoholism for an extended period, with disputes arising regularly. The latest incident has reportedly incited outrage among both the victim’s family members and local residents, who are concerned about domestic violence issues in their community.

Medical professionals at the district hospital are currently monitoring her condition as she receives ongoing treatment for her head injury. The victim’s circumstances have raised awareness about domestic issues stemming from substance abuse and their implications for family dynamics.

Police Investigation and Legal Proceedings

Authorities have initiated an investigation following reports of the incident, aiming to establish the facts surrounding the alleged assault. Police have recorded Manisha’s statement while she was hospitalised, which will serve as a key component of their inquiry.

The local police are assessing the evidence and considering potential legal action based on the findings from the investigation. Given the context of the incident, officers are also looking into the broader impact of domestic violence exacerbated by substance abuse within the community.

As of now, Manisha continues to recuperate in the hospital, and her case is a stark reminder of the serious ramifications of alcohol addiction and domestic discord in households. The community’s response underscores a growing concern about the intersection of personal behaviour and public safety in the region.
