PM Modi Becomes First World Leader with 100 Million Instagram Followers

The CSR Journal Magazine

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has crossed the remarkable threshold of 100 million followers on Instagram, marking him as the first global leader and politician to attain this milestone on the platform. PM Modi has been active on Instagram since 2014, and his follower count significantly surpasses that of other world leaders. US President Donald Trump, who ranks second on the platform, has 43.2 million followers. In comparison, the follower counts of the next five leading world leaders remain lower than PM Modi’s individual total. These include Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who has 15 million followers; Brazilian President Lula with 14.4 million; Turkish President Erdogan, who has 11.6 million; and Argentine President Javier Milei, totaling 6.4 million followers.

PM Modi’s Dominance Among Indian Political Leaders

In terms of Indian political figures, PM Modi also stands out significantly on Instagram. The second-highest following among Indian leaders is Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who has around 16.1 million followers. Rahul Gandhi follows closely with approximately 12.6 million followers. The disparity in follower count between PM Modi and these leaders illustrates his strong social media presence within India.

Official Visit to Israel and Recognition

Currently, PM Modi is on an official two-day visit to Israel. During this visit, the Israeli Parliament awarded him the “Speaker of the Knesset Medal,” the highest honor conferred by the Knesset. This recognition acknowledges PM Modi’s exceptional contributions through his personal leadership to enhance the strategic ties between India and Israel. The award was presented following PM Modi’s address to the Israeli Parliament, where he received a standing ovation and enthusiastic applause.

In his speech at the Knesset, PM Modi highlighted the long-standing relationship between India and Israel, noting admiration for Israel’s resolve and achievements. He emphasized that the ties between the two nations date back over two millennia, referencing the Book of Esther, which mentions India as “Hodu,” and the Talmud’s historical records of trade with India during ancient times. PM Modi’s interactions with members of the Israeli Parliament included taking selfies and photographs, further symbolizing the warmth of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
