‘Opportunities Are Going to Get Even Better’: PM Modi Tells Alstom CEO in Paris

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held meetings with top executives of French companies Alstom and CMA CGM in Paris, highlighting India’s growth trajectory and inviting global firms to collaborate with the country’s young workforce.

The meetings formed part of the Prime Minister’s engagements with business and technology leaders during the final leg of his visit to France, following his participation in the G7 Summit in Évian.

PM Modi Meets Alstom CEO Martin Sion

Prime Minister Modi described his interaction with Martin Sion, Chief Executive Officer of Alstom, as productive and praised the company’s longstanding presence in India.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said Alstom’s confidence in India’s economic prospects and its commitment to manufacturing in the country were commendable.

“Had a productive interaction with the CEO of Alstom, Martin Sion. Alstom already has a strong presence in India. Their belief in India’s growth story and their efforts towards making in India and making for the world are commendable. And, the opportunities are going to get even better in the times to come. India invites the world to collaborate with our youth,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister emphasised that India’s expanding economy and demographic strengths would create even greater opportunities in the years ahead.

Talks Held With CMA CGM Chairman Rodolphe Saade

Modi also met Rodolphe Saade, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CMA CGM Group, during his visit to the French capital.

CMA CGM is one of the world’s largest shipping and logistics companies, providing sea, land and air freight services.

The company currently serves more than 420 ports across five continents through a fleet comprising over 650 vessels.

Ranked as the world’s third-largest shipping company, CMA CGM has emerged as a major player in global logistics and transportation.

Series of Meetings With Industry and Technology Leaders

During his stay in France, the Prime Minister also met Benoit Bazin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Saint-Gobain, Martin Sion of Alstom and Arthur Mensch, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mistral AI.

The interactions reflected India’s efforts to deepen engagement with global businesses and strengthen cooperation in areas ranging from manufacturing and logistics to artificial intelligence and advanced technologies.

Prime Minister Modi arrived in Paris on Wednesday for the final leg of his visit to France after attending the G7 Summit in Évian.

During the summit, he participated in discussions on a range of global issues, including governance, artificial intelligence and cooperation with countries of the Global South.

The meetings with leading French corporate executives come amid growing economic ties between India and Europe and India’s push to attract investment and expand technological collaboration.
